The count down is on. Here’s the profile of Erin and I for our wedding Saturday, October 20th: Erin and Tim.

This is a pretty damn
This is a pretty damn scary article. The scope of this whole war looks like it might get alot wider soon. Iraq ‘behind US anthrax outbreaks’. They are already talking about which government to install once they get rid of Saddam.
One other thing about this article is the talk about the hawks vs. the doves. Is this some English journalistic device that I’m unaware of? (apparently so, dumbass. ed.) It’s kind of funny to hear about “dovish” Powell and “hawkish” Rumsfeld.
Looks like we’re going here
Looks like we’re going here for our honeymoon. While their web site isn’t great, the place is. We’re staying in one of the Pillars—little huts set up on stilts with verandas over the ocean. It was recommended to us by some friends of ours who say it is their favorite place in the world. Ja man. Irie.
Well, it’s official. We have
Well, it’s official. We have cancelled our honeymoon plans in Belize. I spoke to the owner of the resort and, while not badly damaged, it will not be ready in time for our reservations. Not to mention the fact that the surrounding town is pretty much destroyed.
Got any ideas about where we should go?
I just made myself scroll
I just made myself scroll through this entire list: World Trade Center Victims. It took me a long time and the whole time I was thinking about just how many people died at the World Trade Centers. I wanted to try to get a handle on the sheer numbers involved. My fiance and I had been talking about the fact that she had a hard time picturing 6,000 people. I thought that scrolling through the list would help me to try and get a sense for that number.
It took a long time.
Then, when I got to the bottom of the page I read this: The total number of people listed is 1,985. The page was updated October 9, 2001 at 9:45 a.m. EDT.
I wasn’t even close.
This is the best source
This is the best source I’ve found for information about the hurricane damage in Belize: Message Board for Ambergris Caye and Belize. Early reports sound devastating.
My concern about my honeymoon
My concern about my honeymoon has turned into concern for the people of Belize as I learn that as many as 50 people could have died last night as a result of hurricane Iris making a direct hit on the small town of Placencia in Southern Belize. Early reports are that 95% of the businesses have been destroyed in Placencia. Not damaged, destroyed. At least one diving boat, the Wave Dancer, has sank with as many as 20 feared dead. If we weren’t at war, this category 4 storm may have been more prominently featured in the news.
Has anyone else noticed this
Has anyone else noticed this little nugget creep up higher and higher in the news today?
U.S. says self-defense might necessitate action against other nations
That makes me more than a little bit nervous.
This sure doesn’t look too
This sure doesn’t look too good for my honeymoon in Belize: Hurricane Iris Aims for Yucatan. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. They have evacuated Placencia which is where we have reservations.
Maybe this is punishment for my bachelor party on Saturday.
