I don’t like this. Not one bit. Bush to Pull Out From Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.
I did a little research on the ABM treaty and came across this letter to congress (pdf) signed by 50 American Nobel laureates. Very interesting. The web site I found this on is also very interesting. Check it out: Federation of American Scientists.
I don’t know how this whole Afghanistan thing is going to play out, but these kinds of things make me smile:

I typically try to resist any conspiracy theory notions that enter my head, but the wife and I have been talking about this and we can’t seem to get past it. Did flight 93 crash or get shot down? This is a pretty damn scary article. The scope of this whole war looks like it might get alot wider soon. Iraq ‘behind US anthrax outbreaks’. They are already talking about which government to install once they get rid of Saddam.
One other thing about this article is the talk about the hawks vs. the doves. Is this some English journalistic device that I’m unaware of? (apparently so, dumbass. ed.) It’s kind of funny to hear about “dovish” Powell and “hawkish” Rumsfeld.
You’re kidding, right? Taliban ‘will try Bin Laden if US provides evidence’. Does it seem to you that these morons say the exact opposite thing every other day? Oh yeah, and (get this) they say they will try him in an Afghan court. Is that the court right next to the soccer stadium where you shoot innocent women in the back of the head?
Okay, calm down, Tim. Why don’t you just go hang out with Mr. Winkle and relax a bit.

How terrifying it must be for this woman right now. Taliban dash hopes of Ridley’s early release. Let’s all hope she gets released soon.
